HTTP Put Instructions Using Netscape Gold

Install Navigator Gold on your local computer. Click on one of the links below to download your Navigator Gold 3.0 upgrade.

Click here to download the Windows 3.x Navigator Gold 3.0 Upgrade
Click here to download the Mac Navigator Gold 3.0

Once downloaded run the .exe file. USERS MUST install the upgrade to the same directory/folder as their current version of Navigator. After downloading and installing the upgrade, you must configure Navigator Gold with your XtraHost directory information. Below are the screens that you must modify:

Select "Editor Preference" from the "Options" menu of Navigator Gold.

Update the Preferences fields with your directory and password information.

Your XtraHost Web site is now listed with our other XtraHost Customers on our Web hosting Server home page (http://home.xtra.co.nz/admin/). After downloading your Navigator Gold software, disconnect from Xtra and configure your Navigator Gold software as directed above. When you reconnect to Xtra, please open this Web page:

http://home.xtra.co.nz/admin

You will then be able to see administrative information about XtraHost and see your published Web pages.

Publishing - Sending The Document To The Server

When you select Publish from the File pull-down menu, or hit the Publish button, after saving the file, you will be given a dialog box which asks for information regarding where to upload the file:

Enter the appropriate configuration information now. Note that Navigator Gold looks after all the files you need to load making sure that all referenced files are collected to upload to the server.

The URL (Uniform Resouce Locator or address) of the page you have edited is the same as the "Publish To Address" and is now visible to the millions of web surfers around the world!
